In this issue we present articles by Ceramics artist Angela Valamenesh who utilises imagery drawn from early scientific representations of microscopic life as research material in the development of her current body of work, CEO and artistic director of Craft Victoria, Joe Pascoe traces the beginnings of the organisation and shifts in thinking in the craft sector over the past four decades as Craft Victoria celebrates 40 years, Tina Lee discusses her arts practice and the works of her contemporaries who, over the last decade, have engaged in a nostalgic return to Australian studio and commercial ceramic traditions of the late nineteenth and twentieth century, Mags Webster writes about Yiwarra Kuju - the Canning Stock Route project a joint initiative between arts and cultural body FORM, the National Museum and nine remote Aboriginal art centres and communities.
Issue #54 - August 2010 - International Networks
In this issue US based artist and design professor Donald Fortescue discusses recent work by craftspeople in the US which embraces digital technology, Mitchell Whitelaw discusses recent international developments in production incorporating distributed digital fabrication services using techniques such laser cutting and 3D printing, we celebrate the launch of the second issue of craft + design enquiry, present an update on the issues that are critical for the arts as part of our pre-election coverage and republish Professor Ted Snell's introduction to the recently released Visual Arts and Craft Strategy Evaluation Report.

Issue #52 - June 2010 - Philanthropy: Models of Giving
In this issue we focus on philanthropy: Models of Giving with articles on The Kerfoot Collection of studio glass housed at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery in NSW, the activities of the philanthropic group the Alcorso Foundation located in Tasmania, tmag and mona - the interface of public and private collections in Tasmania and the newly launched artists´ resale royalty scheme. Issue #51 - May 2010 - Studio Jewellery
As part of the 40 year celebration of the Australian Studio Craft Movement we are pleased to highlight jewellery and metal work as the theme for the May CA enews. We headline this issue with the 40 year commissioned article written by renowned artist, writer, teacher and provocateur, Margaret West. We also feature the key note address by Professor Ted Snell that was presented at the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia, JMGA, conference which took place in Perth in April. This national biennial conference is a key event for jewellers, goldsmiths, gallerists, collectors, writers and curators takes place in a different host city around the country.

In this April 2010 issue of ca enews we focus on studio glass featuring catalogue essays from the exhibitions tour de force and mind and matter. Andy Plummer co-founder of the Ranamok glass prize writes about the beginnings of his personal collection of studio glass, the Canberra glass works celebrate their third birthday and we profile the ANU glass workshop as a centre of teaching excellence. And our tale of adventure is fresh from the Jamfactory glass studio.

In this March 2010 issue of ca enews we focus on current Indigenous craft and design with projects highlighed in the right way hub including two major touring exhibitions, tayenebe and Menagerie, the Ghost Nets project, and the Yuta Badayala project.

In this February 2010 issue of ca enews we celebrate the start of our 40 year anniversary celebrations with an issue focussing on the past, present and future of Australian studio furniture.
Issue #47 - December 2009 - Year in Review
In this last issue of 716 for 2009 we review the year at Craft Australia counting down our top 5 undertakings for 2009. First off we started the year with a major national conference Selling Yarns 2: Innovation for Sustainability, launched our freshly designed Craft Australia web site, conducted a reader survey of 716 craft.design online news and are currently in the process of redesigning the publication, engineered a national online forum right way, established and launched a brand new international peer reviewed journal craft + design enquiry.
Issue #46 - November 2009 - Living Treasures Series
In this month's edition we celebrate the achievements of Living Treasure for 2009 Jeff Mincham with an interview about his 30 year career in ceramics and the forthcoming launch of the monograph Jeff Mincham: Ceramics. Two exhibitions of Jeff's work will open in Sydney this month in conjunction at Object and Sabbia Gallery. Rodney Hayward writes about the life and work of master furniture maker George Ingham in his review of the Retrospective Survey : A Singular Talent. And we take a sneek peek at two forthcoming exhibitions featuring the Decorative Art collections of the National Gallery of Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Issue #45 -October 2009 - Launch of craft + design enquiry
This month we are celebrating the launch of craft + design enquiry our new, open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that interrogates discourses surrounding craft and design practice. The first issue Migratory Practices: exchanges between anthropology, art, craft and design, guest editor Avi Amesbury, presents six papers examining making, ethnography and fieldwork and the ethics of anthropological and artistic production. craft + design enquiry will be published annually and to this end we are already underway with reviewing papers for issue # 2 investigating the area of cross-cultural exchanges in craft and design to be published in 2010. Included in this issue of 716 is the call for papers for Issue # 3 entitled The Carbon issue - Sustainability in craft and design, guest editor, Dr. Kevin Murray.
Issue #44 - September 2009 - right way National Online Forum
This issue highlights the launch of Craft Australia's biennial national on-line forum right way - the future of indigenous craft and design. The forum discussions examine Indigenous design education led by Alison Page, ethical engagement led by Kevin Murray and authenticity for Indigenous designs led by Trish Barnard. As background to these discussions in this issue we present each of the forum leader's papers from the Selling Yarns conference held at the National Musuem of Australia in March of this year.
Issue #43 - August 2009 - Australian Ceramics Triennale
Ken Yonetani's installation Sweet Barrier Reef is currently on show at the Venice Biennale. UK based writer Colin Martin reviews the work and performance underpinned by Yonetani's environmental concerns examining the relationship between the drive for sugar consumption, sugar refineries and the decline of Australia's iconic Great Barrier Reef.
Issue #42 - July 2009 - Collect Art Purchase Scheme
This issue looks in greater detail at Arts Tasmania's highly successful Collect Art Purchase Scheme based on similar schemes from the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands. The scheme is intended to introduce new collectors to the visual arts boosting sales and export of Tasmanian art across Australia. Galleries such as The Design Centre Tasmania have partnered in this scheme.
Issue #41 - June 2009 - ACDC network
This issue takes the opportunity to draw attention to the Australian Craft Design Centres network through two articles on recent ACDC initiatives. The opening of a Canberra retail outlet by Craft ACT and FORM's Midland Atelier project in Perth. Craft Australia has also been busy with new initiatives and Catrina Vignando writes about her recent visit to the Milano Design Week 2009 to scope opportunities for the sector.
Issue #40 - May 2009 - Textiles
This issue presents articles on two very different textile events. A report on the recent Indigenous fibre conference Selling Yarns 2 by co-ordinator Amy Kerr and an article on a Victorian Tapestry Workhsop project with Chicks on Speed, Big Sister Little Sister by Anna Clabburn.
Issue #39 - April 2009 - Craft Australia website and Studio Glass
With her article New orbit for Craft Australia website - Catrina Vignando launches the new site and provides an explanatory walk through of its features. The issue also focuses on glass with Merryn Gates writing on the work of Liz Kelly in Towers of Glass and a listing of current glass exhibitions across Australia.

The November issue of 716 craft·design looks at the professional practice of three renowned Australian craft artists. There is a particular focus on the highly successful series, Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft and the 2008 Living Treasure exhibition Liz Williamson: Textiles.

This September 2008 issue of 716 craft·design focuses on the export program, the International Craft Intiative (ICI). The initiative, managed by the JamFactory in Adelaide, showcased the best of Australia's artists at the leading events of Collect (UK) and SOFA (USA), while highlighting emerging practitioners in the juried event of Talente (Germany).
