National Craft Mapping Project report

Service provision for professional craft artists and designer/makers

By Jenny Deves

1 March 2006

Abstract

Craft Australia produced the National Craft Mapping Project report - a report on the current status of the Australian craft and design industry. The report was launched in April, 2006 and provides an analysis of professional activity and industry support, looks at career pathways and needs for sustainable practice across the full span of an artist's working life - from recent graduate to the most senior artists.

The project scopes the breadth of services currently available, reviews services offered by organisations and how they are used by craft artists and designer/makers, identifies service needs not currently met and makes recommendations for the future.
